The Pharmacist Hub

A typical Tuesday

What the pharmacist sees first

The role hub starts with the day, because user trust is built in the first 60 seconds of work.

Pharmacist Ravi opens the Pharmacy Hub at 9am. Twelve prescription orders are already queued — from OPD consultations that started 15 minutes ago. He processes each one: the prescription is already in the system, so he doesn't re-type it. He dispenses, the stock deducts automatically. By 11am the first stock alert fires — Amoxicillin 500mg is three days from reorder threshold. He approves the auto-generated indent. It's already in the store manager's queue.

Primary actions

The things this role should do without hunting

Each action should be visible in the hub, connected to the patient or facility record, and reviewable later.

Action 1

Prescription fulfillment

Prescriptions flow directly from the doctor's workstation. No transcription error, no illegible handwriting. The pharmacist reviews, dispenses, and the stock adjusts — all in one action.

Action 2

Inventory management

Live stock levels, expiry tracking, and automatic reorder alerts. The system knows your reorder threshold and generates an indent before you run out. Slow-moving and near-expiry items are flagged proactively.

Action 3

Drug interaction & allergy checks

Every dispensing event checks against the patient's known allergies and current medication list. Hard stops for life-threatening interactions. Soft warnings for clinical judgement calls.

Action 4

Return & wastage tracking

IPD returns, broken vials, ward wastage — all logged and traceable. Monthly narcotic and Schedule H drug reports generated automatically for regulatory compliance.

Follow the handoff

The hub is only useful if it makes the next team’s work cleaner too.
